    Andra Maack opnaði hinn 4. júlí aðra einkasýningu sína í Gallerí Ágúst sem ber heitið SHARP by ANDREA MAACK. Andrea var valin til að sýna á tískutvíæringnum í Arnhem og stjórna vinnustofu (workshop) fyrir fatahönnuði hvaðnæva úr heiminum. Afrakstur þeirrar vinnu er til sýnis á tvíæringnum, sem stendur til 6. júlí. Á stuttri sýningu í Gallerí Ágúst fá gestir að kynnast þriðja ilmi Andreu sem vakti mikla athygli í Hollandi og ber að sjálfsögðu heitið SHARP.

    Sýningin í Gallerí Ágúst er haldin af tilefni þátttöku Andreu í tískutvíæringnum í Arnhem og stendur yfir í 3 vikur. Á sýningunni mun Andrea fyrst og fremst kynna hinn nýja SHARP ilm á Íslandi og verk með tilvísunum í vinnu hennar fyrir Armhem Mode Biennale og þá sérstöðu að vinna sem myndlistarmaður inni í heimi tískunnar. Andrea vinnur með hefðir tískuiðnaðarins m.a. með því að kynna verkin sín tvisvar á ári (haustlínu og vorlínu) og nota eigið nafn sem n.k. vörumerki. Sýningin samanstendur af innsetningu sem unnin er í samvinnu við innanhúsarkitektinn Ingibjörgu Agnesi Jónsdóttur og grafíska hönnuðinn Ármann Agnarsson ásamt ilminum SHARP sem unnin var í samstarfi við Apf í Frakklandi fyrir Arnhem Mode Biennale 2009.

    S H A R P by ANDREA MAACK

    Gallerí Ágúst is proud to present artist Andrea Maack´s second solo exhibition entitled
    S H A R P by ANDREA MAACK.

    Andrea continues playing with the preset rules of the fashion industry (seasons, branding, collections, consumerism) to create a point of connection with the conservative contemporary art world. She introduces her third perfume SHARP which was premiered recently at the Arnhem Mode Biënnale in The Netherlands, recieving much rave. At the exhibition in Gallery Agust, Maack pushes further the elements of her work with collaboration with perfumer Apf arômes & parfums, giving them an original drawing to translate into a scent. She elaborates on the branding element of her art work, putting her name in the spotlight for others to consume.
    SHARP by ANDREA MAACK is an exhibition that leads the mind to the self-image of the individual and society, beauty, happiness, vanity, and the exaltation of pleasure, or desire and lust, however you choose to look at it.
    Maack collaborated with interior/spatial designer Ingibjorg Agnes Jonsdottir and graphic designer Ármann Agnarsson in this project.
